(Seattle, WA) – With the general election less than 25 days away, Senator Patty Murray’s Patty for WA Campaign Tour is in full swing. Patty is out on the campaign trail — talking to voters, headlining canvass kickoff events, and holding town halls to talk with Washingtonians about how she is working to lower costs and strengthen our economy for working families, fighting to protect a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions, and standing up to protect our democracy.

Kicking off her Patty for WA Campaign Tour, Tuesday, Patty Murray joined Congresswoman Kim Schrier (WA-08) for a Reproductive Rights Town Hall at the Train Depot in Issaquah to discuss the stakes of the November general election for a woman’s right to choose — in Washington state and across the country. Senator Murray and Congresswoman Dr. Schrier are both running against anti-choice extremists in the November general election, and their opponents, Tiffany Smiley and Matt Larkin, have campaigned together on multiple occasions. Tiffany Smiley — who is, in her own words, “100 percent pro-life” — celebrated the overturning of Roe v. Wade and has previously expressed support for a federal abortion ban.
On Thursday, Patty Murray held a Small Business Town Hall at Hellbent Brewing in Seattle, with small business owners from across the region. At the event, Murray answered questions and discussed her work tackling issues facing small businesses — from inflation to crime to child care. Murray discussed her advocacy for Washington’s small businesses, including securing critical funding to help small businesses keep their doors open and employees on payroll in the American Rescue Plan and other critical pandemic recovery legislation — thanks in large part to Senator Murray’s advocacy, Washington state businesses have received more than $9 billion in federal relief since the beginning of the pandemic.
On Friday, Patty Murray and Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) spoke with student voters near the University of Washington campus to discuss the importance of voting in the fall, and the stakes of the midterm election on issues including climate action, LGBTQ+ rights, and making college more affordable. As Chair of the Senate Education Committee, Senator Murray has led the charge to make the student loan system work for students and families, and is working to lower the cost of college overall and pass her legislation that would make community college tuition free.
On Saturday, Patty Murray headlined Get Out The Vote events in Shelton, Gig Harbor, and Port Townsend with Rep. Derek Kilmer (WA-06) and other Democratic elected officials, candidates, and volunteers.
On Sunday, Patty Murray headlined Get Out The Vote canvass kickoff events in Mount Vernon and Mill Creek with Democratic elected officials, candidates, and volunteers — including Governor Jay Inslee, who joined Patty in Mount Vernon, and Rep. Suzan DelBene (WA-01) who joined Patty in Mill Creek.
